Another question, one that hopefully isn't as stupid!
Can I host the fanfics I will (eventually) put up on the DL archives on another site, as well? Like ff.net? Grazi. _________________

I have a question about avvies...
I've tried about 8 or so avvies to use as my userpic, but all of them are larger than 12 kb. Is there any way to, I guess, put their size down? Because this is preventing me from wearing any avvie at all.
I feel so naked. _________________ Previously known as Vitamin Vicki, Hufflepuff. :] |

Sadly, this isn't going to end well for your avvies. *sigh* We have to have a limit on the "weight" of avvies or else it would take too long for them to load on the boards, but there is a way to lessen the load.
Try saving them as .gif or .jpeg if they aren't already, and if you have a quality scale (it might show up when you save them as .jpegs, it does on my Mac) I would bring that down. I hope that solves your problem, I'm still working out how to fix that with some of my avvvies too!
El Edit: most graphics editing programs offer an 'optimization' function. I've used such as Ulead Smart Saver, Jpeg Wizard, and, of course, Photoshop. I also found that simple IrfanView can save images in a smaller-sized file than some others, without visible loss of quality. _________________ Seeker of the Light~Allie
